Port Binnli contributes significant private investment into projects and infrastructure which foster regional development. Currently, Port Binnli has completed marina and residential developments in Raby Bay and Mackay and has residential release planned for Airlie Beach, north of Mackay. New precincts have been proposed at Shute Harbour and Northeast Business Park.
Port Binnli’s development activities and investment have led to a solid reputation for quality and innovation in the marine property development industry in regional Queensland. The company's developments are catalytic in terms of employment generation. Since the Mackay Marina Village project began in 1998 almost 1500 people have worked on site to construct the precinct. The project has generated 600* jobs in the local Mackay area excluding the 66 current permanent positions within the precinct.
Port Binnli understands the necessity of sustainable development and strives to achieve developments that are economically productive, socially viable and ecologically sustainable. Our developments stand as a testament to our effective working partnerships. These working partnerships have been established to deliver major projects that support the economic development of regional communities. Port Binnli has a strong track record for establishing effective working relationships with government agencies and the private sector.
Port Binnli projects recognise the importance of the environment and embrace the philosophy of sustainable development. That is, using, conserving and enhancing the community’s resources so that ecological processes, on which life depends, are maintained, and the total quality of life, now and in the future, can be increased (Natural Heritage Trust, 1997: 6)
We adhere to The National Strategy for Ecologically Sustainable Development’s three objectives for ecologically sustainable development:
- To enhance individual and community well-being and welfare by following a path of economic development that safeguards the welfare of future generations
- To provide for equity within and between generations
- To protect biological diversity and maintain ecological processes and life support systems
